Congratulations to 𝐄𝐧𝐠. 𝐀𝐛𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐫 𝐀𝐡𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐀𝐛𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐡𝐦𝐚𝐧 on his publication titled, “𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐜𝐬” in the 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬, a Q2 journal indexed in the 𝗪𝐞𝐛 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 (𝐒𝐂𝐈𝐄).
The paper explores how circular economy principles can be integrated into the photovoltaic (PV) industry to enhance sustainability across the entire lifecycle of solar energy systems. It examines innovations in recycling technologies, material recovery, design-for-recycling strategies, and policy frameworks that can support the transition toward a more resource-efficient and environmentally responsible solar sector.
The study highlights key economic, technological, regulatory, and social barriers that currently limit circularity in photovoltaics, while proposing strategic pathways to overcome these challenges. Through an integrated innovations–barriers–pathways framework, the research offers practical insights for improving PV recycling, extending module lifespans, recovering valuable materials, and supporting sustainable energy transitions worldwide.
Hormuud University continues to support impactful, interdisciplinary research that advances knowledge and contributes to more equitable and sustainable livelihoods.
