The University of Nairobi and Hormuud University have eagerly and mutually agreed to establish a comprehensive academic collaboration founded on shared values, complementary strengths, and a common vision for regional and global impact.
This partnership emerged from the initiative of the Vice-Chancellor of Hormuud University, whose proactive engagement opened constructive discussion between the two institutions.
From the outset, discussions were characterized by strong goodwill, openness, and a clear willingness on both sides to translate intentions into practical cooperation.
The 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐍𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐢, as a leading research-intensive institution in the region, recognized Hormuud University’s growing academic capacity, innovation-driven leadership, and its pivotal role in Somalia’s higher education and community development landscape.
Equally, 𝐇𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐮𝐮𝐝 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 identified the 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐍𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐢 as a trusted partner with long-standing experience in postgraduate education, advanced research, laboratories, and international academic standards.
Both universities enthusiastically agreed that collaboration would be mutually beneficial and impactful across multiple priority areas, including, but not limited to; Joint research and innovation, postgraduate education, Community engagement, Language studies, Information Technology, Laboratories and practical training.
In essence, this collaboration represents a forward-looking alliance, initiated through the vision of 𝐇𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐮𝐮𝐝 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲’𝐬 leadership and embraced wholeheartedly by the 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐍𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐢, with both universities united by the belief that knowledge, research, and partnerships are powerful drivers of development, stability, and shared prosperity in the region.
