Prof. Dr. Abdi Omar Shuriye, Vice-Chancellor of Hormuud University and Chairman of HUMC 2026, officially inaugurated the conference by welcoming delegates, keynote speakers, researchers, and institutional partners from Somalia and across the international academic community.
In his opening address, he reaffirmed Hormuud University's commitment to strengthening research, promoting interdisciplinary scholarship, and expanding international academic collaboration. He highlighted the conference's role as a platform for generating evidence-based solutions, fostering innovation, and advancing the responsible application of Artificial Intelligence to address educational, technological, economic, environmental, and societal challenges relevant to Somalia and other developing contexts.
