Founded in 2010 by Hormuud Telecommunication Company, Hormuud University was built to produce internationally qualified, locally rooted professionals and to close gaps in specialised fields that Somalia's academic landscape had not yet addressed.

Admission Requirements
To join Hormuud University, applicants must submit:
- Secondary leaving certificate (original + copy, attested by the Ministry of Education)
- Application letter
- Birth Certificate / NIRA / or Passport
- Certificate of good conduct
- Registration fee: $40
- Digital passport-sized photo
- Pass the entry exam

Scholarships
Entry Scholarship
Full tuition, awarded annually to the top ten (10) students achieving the highest scores in the university admission examination.
Merit Scholarship
Full tuition, awarded annually to the top-performing student in each faculty based on university examination results.
Family Scholarship
Awarded to siblings enrolled simultaneously at the university each eligible student receives a 15% tuition fee reduction.
