Abdirahman Isse Salad

Acting Dean, Faculty of Geoscience and Environment

Chief Registrar

The Faculty is committed to the advancement of knowledge concerning the Earth, its dynamic processes, and the environmental systems that sustain life. A central element of its mission is the study of minerals and natural resources—their origin, exploration, and responsible management. Students are guided to understand how these resources support development while recognizing the essential responsibilities of environmental management and sustainability.

Today’s world faces significant challenges, including climate change, water scarcity, land degradation, environmental pollution, and natural hazards. The Faculty’s academic programs are designed to cultivate sound scientific understanding, strong field competence, and disciplined analytical skills, enabling graduates to contribute thoughtfully and effectively at both national and global levels.

The Faculty values intellectual curiosity, integrity, and respect for the environment. Students are encouraged to think critically, collaborate constructively, and apply their learning to real-world issues involving land, water, energy, and mineral resources.

We are pleased to welcome new and continuing students, partners, and visitors. We trust that your engagement with the Faculty will be both enriching and academically fulfilling.
